Provider Listing Policy

How We List Providers

Pet Farewell Finder is a free, independent directory of pet end-of-life care providers. We list businesses that offer services including in-home euthanasia, mobile veterinary euthanasia, pet hospice, cremation, aquamation, pet cemeteries, and grief support services.

Providers do not need to pay to be included in our directory. We believe a comprehensive, free listing benefits pet owners searching for quality care.

How We Source Provider Data

Our initial provider database was built using publicly available business information, including:

• Business websites and online directories
• Phone numbers and contact information from public sources
• Service area and location data
• Service categories and offerings when publicly listed

We do not copy large amounts of copyrighted content from provider websites. Provider descriptions are either factual public information or original summaries written by our team.

Verification and Status Tracking

Every provider in our directory is tracked with a status indicating what information has been verified:

• Unclaimed: Business information is from public sources. Provider has not yet verified or claimed the listing.
• Claimed: A representative from the business has verified ownership and created an account to manage the listing.
• Verified: Business ownership has been confirmed through our verification process.

We also track the date information was last verified, helping pet owners understand how current our data is.

Claiming Your Listing

If you are a provider, you can claim and manage your listing to keep information accurate. To claim your listing:

1. Find your business in our directory
2. Select "Claim this listing"
3. Complete our verification process (email domain, phone number, or manual verification)
4. Create your account and begin managing your profile

Once claimed, you can update your description, services offered, service areas, contact information, and additional details about your practice.

Preferred Listings

Some providers choose to upgrade to a Preferred listing through a monthly or annual subscription. Preferred providers appear with a crown icon and highlighted formatting in our directory to indicate they support the platform.

Preferred status is a paid placement option and does not affect how we rank providers organically. Providers are sorted primarily by distance, verification status, and service availability — not by subscription tier.

We clearly label sponsored or Preferred listings so pet owners can distinguish between paid placements and organic search results.

Directory Accuracy and Corrections

We work to keep provider information accurate and current. However, contact information, service areas, and offerings can change.

If you find incorrect information about a provider:

• Claimed providers can update information directly from their dashboard
• For unclaimed listings, contact us with the provider name and correction details
• We verify changes before updating the directory

If a business has closed, changed ownership, or is no longer offering services, please let us know so we can remove or update the listing.

Reporting Problems or Issues

If you have concerns about a provider listing or believe information is inaccurate:

• Report the issue to our team with specific details
• We investigate and may remove or update listings
• We do not remove listings simply because of negative experiences, but we take accuracy concerns seriously
• Repeated reports or evidence of misleading information may result in removal from the directory

What This Directory Is Not

Pet Farewell Finder is a directory and information resource, not:

• A veterinary service or medical provider
• An endorsement of any specific provider
• A rating or review site (we do not collect or publish provider reviews)
• A substitute for your own research and due diligence

We encourage pet owners to contact providers directly to confirm services, pricing, availability, and to ask any questions before making a decision.
